WAYS TO HELP

There’s more than one way to volunteer.

You can support a section, come along to an event or use the skills you already have.

Help at a section

Support the team with games, crafts, activities and new adventures at Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs or Scouts.

Camps and adventures

Lend a hand on camps, outings and events. Extra adults make bigger experiences possible.

Share a skill

Cooking, DIY, coding, first aid, music, sport or crafts — there are lots of ways to inspire young people.

Behind the scenes

Help with equipment, fundraising, maintenance, administration, events or communications.

REAL VOLUNTEERS. REAL IMPACT.

A little time goes a long way.

Whether you can help each week, occasionally or just with a particular event, that support allows our group to offer more activities and welcome more young people.

02 · Find a suitable role

We’ll discuss where your support could be most useful and what opportunities are available.

03 · Get the right support

Relevant checks, learning and safeguarding requirements will be arranged for the role before you begin.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What people ask us

Do I need Scouting experience?

No. Enthusiasm and a willingness to help are a good starting point, and relevant guidance is available.

Do I have to attend every week?

Not necessarily. The group also benefits from occasional, event-based and behind-the-scenes volunteers.

Will I need safeguarding checks or training?

Requirements depend on the role. The team will explain the relevant checks, learning and safeguarding arrangements.

Could I help without working directly with young people?

Yes. Fundraising, admin, equipment, events and communications are all useful forms of support.
