Today, our Squirrels swapped the hut for a walk into the local community as part of a session focused on helping others.
After meeting at Westmorland Pavilion for our Promise and a short briefing, the Squirrels set off on foot for Tesco, around a 15–20 minute walk away.
Families had kindly brought along donations for the Tesco Food Bank, which the Squirrels took with them to drop off during the visit.
During the session, the Squirrels learned what a food bank is, why some families may need extra support, and how donating everyday items can help people in their local community. It was a simple but really practical way for them to understand kindness, helping others and being an active part of their community.
The walk also gave everyone a chance to practice staying together as a group and walking safely while out and about.
